The week was rejected — what to do
The manager rejected the week. That is not “your hours disappeared” and it is also not a permanent punishment. Rejection returns the week so you can correct what was missing and resubmit. The entries are still there; the status is what returned to your hands.
This article is for the teammate who already submitted the week. Whoever rejects (and comments) is in how to approve submitted hours.
💡 Rejection arrives with a comment. Read the comment before you change the grid — what to fix is written there, not just “it was rejected”.
What happened
Rejected week timesheet, with the manager comment
You submitted the week. The manager looked at it and did not accept the set (a gap on Tuesday, the wrong project, a description that does not work for the client). The week leaves their queue and comes back to you to edit.
A rejected week can be adjusted. A week pending approval or already approved cannot be edited freely — the agreement is what you submitted.
How to correct and resubmit
- Open Time tracking > Timesheet and the Week view.
- Read the rejection comment. It is the list of what is missing, not a bare “no”.
- Adjust what the manager asked for: hour, project, task, description. The detail of a day is in the Day view.
- Check the totals by day and by project again. A gap now is cheaper than a second rejection.
- Click Submit for approval again. The week goes back to the same person who approves — the manager on your profile.
Do not notify the group instead of resubmitting. The status in Rabbiit is what the manager sees.
If an entry will not let you edit
Rejection unlocks the week. If one record is still locked, the reason is something else: billed, date lock, or permission. Follow why I cannot edit a time entry.
Undo is not the path after rejection
Undo submission cancels a submission before the manager decides — you submitted too early. After rejection, the path is to correct and resubmit, not to undo what was already rejected.
When to use it
Use as soon as the comment arrives. A week sitting “to look at later” becomes a delay at close.
Do not use rejection as a conversation. If the comment is not clear, ask the manager what to change in the entry; resubmission is the record that you adjusted it.
