How to use the extension on Trello

On Trello, the RabbitWork extension shows time on each card and lets you start the timer without leaving the board. Hours go to the same Rabbiit account.

First install and authorize the extension: How to use the browser extension.

What shows up on the board

With the extension authorized, the board gains three things:

  • On each card, a play button and the time already logged. When the activity has an estimate, the card shows both, like 0m / 2h 00m.
  • On the card in progress, the running timer (for example 36:26). It stays visible as you move around the board and after you refresh the page.
  • At the top of the board, the Hours and Timesheet buttons.

Start and stop from the card

  1. Open the board in Trello.
  2. On the card, click play.
  3. The popup opens with the description filled from the card title. Project comes from the board. Task stays No task when there is no linked Rabbiit task — you can change both with the pencil next to the name.
  4. Time runs in the popup and on the card itself.
  5. Click Stop and save. The hours land in the Rabbiit account.

The popup is the same one you get on any other site. You can adjust the description, project, and task with the board still open.

Estimate on the card

Opening the card shows the RabbitWork time tracking block. The timer sits next to what you already logged, the team total, and the estimate bar: done on one side, estimated on the other. You adjust the estimate there, without leaving Trello.

Hours and timesheet on the board

Hours opens that board's report. You can see the week by person, by day, or by task, with billable value and cost.

Timesheet opens the week, without going to the app.

To close the week in Rabbiit, use the weekly and daily timesheet.

Trello is the only board with this integration ready. The popup timer still works on any site. When another platform is ready, it gets an article in the same format.

Turn it on or off

Trello starts on. Use this only if you want to remove play and time from the cards, or turn them back on.

Right-click the extension icon and choose Options.

Turning Trello off removes play and time from the cards. Turning it on again brings both back. The other tools show as coming soon and cannot be turned on yet.

After you change it, reload the Trello tab.
