Summary: cost by person

This is a slice of the dynamic summary for the month-end question: how many hours did each person log, and what did that cost.

The number comes from the cost per hour on the person’s record. The report multiplies that value by the hours logged in the period. It does not calculate vacation, bonuses, or payroll taxes. Employees on a regular payroll stay in payroll, outside Rabbiit. Use this to pay people who are paid from what they log — contractors and freelancers — and to see each person’s internal cost for the month.

💡 Without a cost on the record, the column comes out zero. Anyone without permission to see cost does not see the amount.

The table

Summary collapsed by person, with hours and costSummary collapsed by person, with hours and cost

Groupings: Person and, underneath, Project. Leave it collapsed. Each row is one person, with the month’s total. Expanding shows which project those hours came from — useful when the payment or the split needs that detail, not on the first read.

Columns, in this example:

  • Total Hours — time logged in the period.
  • Total Cost — hours times the cost per hour in effect on each entry.

The chart can stay off. The table is the read. Click a value to open the entries behind that number, as in the detailed report.

When to use this slice

Use it at month-end, to put together payment for people who are not on regular payroll, or to see what each person cost that month.

Don’t use it to see whether a client left margin. Revenue, cost, and margin together live in the financial summary. What was already invoiced lives in the invoiced summary.
