Online Stopwatch
Use our free online stopwatch to measure time accurately. Ideal for freelancers, meetings, focus or workouts — no ads, right in your browser.
Why is using an online stopwatch useful in daily life?
Because it's a simple and practical way to track time more consciously, for short tasks or longer activities. You can use an online stopwatch to:
- Track meetings and prevent them from running over
- Track focus time on work or study
- Use as an audio reminder to check something after a set time
- Control breaks, rest and stretching
- Time exercises, appointments or service sessions
- See how much time you spend on operational tasks
All in the browser, no installation, with automatic alarm and local history.
How do I set an alarm to go off automatically?
Set the desired time in the "Alarm set for" field and click Play. When that time is reached, a sound will play automatically.
You can change the alarm time even while the stopwatch is running, or turn it on at any time without resetting. The stopwatch does not pause when the alarm sounds — it keeps running.
The alarm plays for 1 full minute and then stops. To stop it earlier, click "Turn off alarm" or pause the stopwatch.
What keyboard shortcuts are available?
You can control the stopwatch from the keyboard:
- Space bar: start or pause the stopwatch
- Esc: pause and reset the stopwatch
- Number keys: set the alarm to sound after that many minutes (e.g. 15 → alarm at 15 minutes)
For multi-digit input, type digits in quick succession (max 300 ms between keys). E.g. type 90 quickly and press Space to start with alarm at 1h 30min.
Is my timed time saved if I leave or reload the page?
Yes. The stopwatch saves times and current state in your browser (localStorage). If you close the tab or turn off the computer, previous times will still be there when you return — as long as browser data wasn't cleared.
If you reload while the stopwatch is running, it restores with the correct time and continues from where it left off.
How do I use this stopwatch with the Pomodoro technique?
Pomodoro divides work into focus and rest cycles: 25 minutes concentration then 5 minutes break. After four cycles, take a longer break (15–30 min).
Turn on the alarm and set 25 minutes, click Play and focus. When the alarm sounds, take a 5-minute break (Reset and set alarm to 5 min). Repeat for 4 cycles, then rest longer. A simple way to stay focused and avoid distractions.
